Downtown Deliveries

Many of you receive deliveries on a regular basis and the Town of Bracebridge would like to take this opportunity to remind business owners that the following activities by Delivery Companies are prohibited under Town parking by-laws:

  1. Parking in such a manner that will prevent the removal of any vehicle previously parked (double parking, parking in the travel lane).

  2. Parking with the vehicle being located farther than 15 centimetres from the curb (double parking, unloading in the travel lane)

  3. Parking or stopping an oversize commercial vehicle during prohibited times (10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday) – (see below for details on what an oversized commercial vehicle is).

Please notify any delivery company who makes deliveries to your business of these parking and vehicle loading/unloading regulations.

  • Cube vans and stake trucks (which is the next size up from the cube van) are permitted to park in the metered spaces to make deliveries at any time.  However they cannot block the travel lane. The delivery vehicle MUST be within the designated parking spaces. If they are double parked or within the travel lane a ticket can be issued.

  • Larger vehicles (i.e. transport trucks) are prohibited from parking anywhere on the roadway in the downtown area between the hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Saturday.

  • A loading/unloading zone is available at 3 Ecclestone drive in front of Bird Mill Mews Parkette. If you are not able to schedule your delivery or there is not enough parking we recommend you advise your driver of this secondary spot where they can unload.

The By-Law Enforcement Officers will be issuing parking tickets to any vehicle found parked or stopped in violation of these Town by-laws. Please contact the By-Law Enforcement Branch at the Town of Bracebridge should you require additional information on these or any other Town by-laws, please call (705)645.5264.
